After all, one of the most important aspects of a ruler (or demi-god like what we are in EU IV) is the ability to deal with bad odds, loads of bad luck and purely random difficulties. There needs to be a certain amount of randomness to these things, otherwise the ability to plan them perfectly will take away a lot of challenge. Anyway, I have obviously not tried the new system yet, but if it works in a similar fashion the new rebel system does (and it looks like it does) I feel there needs to be re-balancing in both. After my experience with rebels I assume that will not ever happen to me again in any way that would be even remotely dangerous. That has not happened at all since 1.8 since it's amazingly easy to avoid altogether and / or plan their uprisings accordingly.Īnd even though I haven't had more than five Peasants' Wars in 1.500 hours play time I did struggle with some of the other major event chains now turned into disasters. While I haven't had a single game fail due to rebels before 1.8, I certainly had a few were they managed to push me into an overall unhealthy situation. But overall I'm having no issues whatsoever with rebels anymore, at all. At least that is my experience with the new rebel system - which I love in general, just to be clear. I very much like the system in general, however I'm afraid this might make avoiding these 'disasters' too easy.
